Online Therapy is also often referred to as: Virtual Counseling, Telehealth, Teletherapy…The list goes on!
In a world where we are all busy and on-the-go, online therapy is an option to make counseling more accessible. Instead of requiring you to take time for your commute to my office, I'm able to link up with you online.
Offering therapy online also means I can expand my reach as a therapist. Did you know that the only requirement to do therapy with me only is that you have to physically be located in New York or Connecticut during the time of the session?
While most of my clients reside in or near Westchester County, NYC, offering virtual counseling allows me to see individuals spanning all the way from NYC to Albany to Syracuse to Lake Placid, and everywhere in between. I am also licensed in CT, which allows me to open my practice to all Connecticut residents!
HOW IT WORKS
I utilize a confidential, HIPAA compliant telehealth system, that allows you to meet with me in a virtual meeting space. Just like in-person appointments, confidentiality is my number one priority. I use Zoom, a HIPAA-compliant platform for all of my online therapy sessions. It's easy to use and reliable, making online therapy a breeze.
Some things to keep in mind:
Ensure you have a reliable internet connection.
Test the audio & video before each session.
Find a location that is totally private so you can fully immerse yourself into the session and fully utilize the time you've carved out for yourself.
